Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II

This piece is Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II. The car premiered in Geneva in 1990 and was a production special of the 2.5-16 version. A series of 502 examples was produced in order to obtain Group A homologation. The monstrous size of the rear spoiler was dictated by the aerodynamic requirements of the Group A rules, which also had to be confronted with rear visibility issues. 2,5 liter R4 engine delivered 235 PS and 245 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h took 7,1 seconds and the top speed was 250 km/h. All but the last two cars were available in blue black metallic (the final examples were painted in astral silver).
